The Illovszky Rudolf Stadion was inaugurated on February 12, 1960. It was completely rebuilt in 2019. The demolition works began in 2016 and the objective of its reconstruction was both to increase its capacity and to modernize its facilities. On July 5, 2019 the stadium was reopened with the celebration of the football match Vasas SC vs FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda.

Currently, its capacity is 5,054 people. It is named after Rudolf Illovszky, historical coach of the club and player of the Hungarian football team.

Architectural mesh Eiffel 4050:

Codina has been involved in the Illovszky Rudolf Stadion reconstruction project with the application of its architectural mesh model Eiffel 4050. Specifically, 5,000 m2 of wire mesh have been used, with a steel substructure support that protrudes from the façade. The Eiffel 4050 architectural mesh model, applied on the Illovszky Rudolf Stadion in stainless steel with natural finish, perfectly adapts to the geometries projected on the 4 facades of the stadium.

The Eiffel 4050 architectural mesh model is 6.5 kg/m2 weight, 48% open area and 8 m maximum width. It’s a stainless steel mesh that suits this particular building geometry: made of highly versatile laminated wire, ideal for covering large spaces and curved shapes without losing the nobility of stainless steel. The stainless steel grade used was AISI 316L strip and wire.
