Metal mesh for facade
The Aimé Césaire media library spans 1253 m2 and is located in the centre of La Courneuve, France. Due to its location as the centre of the urban redesign, the building looks disjointed and disorganised, separated by different types of volumes, which do however interact with the surrounding buildings to harmonise the area.
With the aim of minimising the entry of sunlight inside the building, the team leading the project, Atelier François Guibert Architectes, designed different natural lighting control solutions. One of them was to cover the space just above the main entrance with the Eiffel 40100 architectural mesh.
