Architectural mesh for facade
Balearia’s terminal and headquarters in Denia has become an emblematic building for the city of Alicante. It is the ferry terminal and gateway from the Balearic Islands, but also a social meeting point for residents. Architect Fernando Casqueiro has designed a building with a total constructed area of 6,523 m2 plus another 2,841 m2 of lower ground floor that offers all the necessary services for cargo and passenger transport, a departure lounge, a leisure and restaurant area open to the public, and offices for 140 people.
The enclosure was built with a roof with a great thermal insulation of concrete and a glazed facade, for which low solar factor screen-printed glass was used. In the area which is most exposed to the sun, a stainless-steel lattice was added, resolved with the Eiffel 40100 metal mesh by Codina Architectural.
